Fishbowl: "Vendor Minimum Order Amount" — access denied
Unable to issue Purchase Order. Vendor Minimum Order Amount (amount) has not been met.
What triggers it
This message appears when a user tries to issue a Purchase Order with a total below the vendor’s configured minimum order amount, and the user’s group lacks the “Override Minimum Order Amount” access right. Fishbowl uses this right to control who can bypass vendor minimums.
The fix
Open Setup > User Groups, select the user’s group, navigate to the Vendor module section, and enable “Override Minimum Order Amount”. Have the user log out completely and log back in. After that, when they try to issue a PO below the minimum, they’ll receive a prompt to confirm the action instead of a hard block.
You don’t have to take our word for it: Fishbowl’s official Access Rights reference lists the Override Minimum Order Amount right under the Vendor module.
What to check first
Verify the user’s group assignment in Setup > User Groups to confirm they’re in the right group. If the vendor’s minimum is genuinely not needed, consider disabling it on the vendor card itself rather than granting overrides to multiple groups—this is cleaner control. Test by issuing a small PO with a user who already has the right; if it succeeds for them, you’ve confirmed it’s an access issue.
