Fishbowl: UOM conversion results in non-whole BOM quantity
Warning✕
Cannot create this UOM conversion because a quantity on a Bill of Materials cannot be converted to a whole number.
OK
What it means
When you try to create a UOM conversion, Fishbowl validates that any existing Bills of Materials currently using the original UOM would result in whole-number quantities after the conversion is applied. If the mathematics would produce a fraction (like 1.5 or 3.67), the system rejects the conversion.
What to check
- Identify which BOM(s) currently use the original UOM of this conversion attempt.
- Verify the conversion ratio you’re proposing: does it divide evenly into those current BOM quantities?
- If the math doesn’t work out, either adjust the affected BOM quantities to compatible numbers, or reconsider the conversion ratio so all results are whole numbers.
