Fishbowl: Cannot issue order — custom field access denied
Required custom field(s) need to be completed to issue this order. You do not have sufficient rights to access these custom field(s). The order may be saved, but you must contact your administrator to issue the order.
What triggers it
A Purchase Order has required custom fields that are empty, and the user’s group lacks the “View The Custom Fields Tab” access right. Fishbowl blocks the issue button and shows this error. The order can be saved, but not issued. Because the user cannot access the custom fields tab, they cannot fill the required fields.
The fix
Go to Setup > User Groups. Select the user’s group and navigate to the Purchase Order module. Enable “View The Custom Fields Tab”. Have the user log out and log back in. The user can now access the custom fields tab, fill required fields, and issue the order.
Note: This restriction may be intentional. Confirm with your administrator that it should be granted.
You don’t have to take our word for it: Fishbowl’s official Access Rights reference lists the View The Custom Fields Tab right under the Purchase Order module.
What to check first
Verify the user’s group assignment in Setup > User Groups. Test issuing the order with an admin account to confirm the custom fields are actually required. If the error persists after granting the right, the custom field definitions may need review.
