Fishbowl: "Cost changed when you updated quantity or UOM"

Purchase OrderPurchase Order line item

What it means

When you changed the quantity or unit of measure on a PO line item, Fishbowl calculated a different unit cost than what was already there. This typically happens when supplier pricing includes quantity tiers (bulk discounts or premiums), the item has multiple entries in the cost history, or the unit of measure conversion affects how the per-unit cost is calculated.

What to check

  • Confirm the quantity and UOM you entered match your actual purchase intent
  • Verify the new cost against your supplier’s current pricing (recent invoices, quotes, or rate card)
  • If the new cost seems wrong, double-check that your quantity and UOM entries are correct
