Why does Fishbowl say "You need access rights to set these options."?

Fishbowl shows this because the user's group lacks the Options access right in the Accounting module; enable it in Setup > User Groups, or the action is intentionally restricted.

What triggers it

When a user tries to open or modify Accounting Options (typically by clicking the Options button within the Accounting module), this error dialog appears if their assigned group doesn’t have the Options access right enabled.

The fix

Go to Setup > User Groups
Select the user’s group
Navigate to the Accounting section
Enable the “Options” access right
Save changes; the user must log out and log back in to see the effect

This right is sometimes intentionally restricted to prevent non-supervisory staff from changing core settings.

What to check first

Confirm the user’s assigned group in Setup > User Groups
Test with a different user who has Options enabled—if they can access it, the permission is the issue
