Expanding Fishbowl’s Global Appeal

We know Fishbowl Inventory is great software, because not only does it fit the needs of businesses in the United States, but it does so at a price point that honestly cant be argued when compared feature by feature for other ERP/MRP solutions for broad business applications.

Recently I was asked, what is my market niche, and my answer was Fishbowl. Its true, I dont have one kind of market, Oil & Gas, Warehousing and Distribution, Light to Heavy Manufacturing, Food, Textiles, etc,. It really run’s the gamut because Fishbowl can adapt to those markets.

I knew Fishbowl was headed globally after I met my colleague Simon from Fishbowl Australia. The success he has had there in his Market is awesome. Especially considering that Reckon / QuickBooks is not a dominant accounting package.

So when I started hearing rumors about a Xero integration, I was more than pleased. It means Fishbowl is doing well, it means Fishbowl is growing, it means Fishbowl going global.

In this 2015.4 release, we get to see that hidden effort revealed. In the video below, I walk through the highlights in the latest release. I play with Xero, discuss the improvements to the Shipping Invoices, and overall changes to the product.

Highlights

Payment Viewer

Payment Posted field now shows in the transaction info section of the payment viewer module.
The Payment Viewer now has a link that opens the associated sales order.

Reports

Shipping invoice now includes discounts and subtotal pricing for partial shipments.
Added an On Hand by Expiration Date report that shows inventory with an expiration date.
Added a Service Orders report with an option to show or hide $0 items in a separate section.
Added a Bill of Materials Standard Cost report.

Sales Order

Discount window now includes the discount description and rate.
Added a field to search by customer account number in the sales order advanced search.

Schedule

Export to QuickBooks only shows when integration with QuickBooks has been completed.

User Group

Added an access right to be able to convert non-inventory parts to inventory type parts.
Added access right to access each tab of the Company module.
