# Fishbowl: Cannot create vendor without name in QuickBooks

## What it means

Fishbowl is attempting to create or sync a vendor record to QuickBooks, but vendor names are required in QuickBooks. This error typically occurs when you create a new vendor in Fishbowl without entering a name, or when Fishbowl tries to sync an existing vendor record that has a blank or missing name field.

## What to check

- Open the vendor record in Fishbowl and verify that the Name field is populated. Leaving this field blank will trigger the error.
- If updating an existing vendor, double-check that the name hasn't been cleared or left as whitespace.
- Review your sync settings to ensure they are not attempting to create vendors in QuickBooks from Fishbowl records with missing names.
