# Fishbowl: Cannot create salesman in QuickBooks without name

> QuickBooks requires a name field when creating or syncing a salesman record from Fishbowl.

## What it means

When Fishbowl syncs salesmen to QuickBooks or creates one there directly, QuickBooks rejects any record without a populated name field. This usually happens when a salesman in Fishbowl has an empty name and you attempt to push that record during sync or creation.

## What to check

- **Salesman name field**: Verify the salesman record in Fishbowl has a name populated. Check whether the name is blank or contains only whitespace.
- **Sync source**: Confirm this is a new salesman being created, not an existing one being updated.
- **Before retrying**: Fill in the missing name in the salesman record and attempt the sync again.
