# Fishbowl: "Receipts and/or shipments must be fulfilled or entered"

> You can't close a Purchase Order short until receipts are fulfilled or shipments are entered.

## What it means

When closing a Purchase Order short, you're accepting partial delivery and closing the rest of the PO. Fishbowl requires that any receipts already on the PO are marked fulfilled and any shipments are marked entered. This locks in what actually arrived before you close the remaining balance.

## What to check

- Does this PO have receipts or shipments recorded? Check the PO's receiving/shipment section.
- Are they fulfilled (for receipts) or entered (for shipments)? Look at their status—they can't be in draft or incomplete state.
- If they're still in progress, complete that receiving or shipment step first, then retry closing short.
