# Fishbowl: "Sales tax name missing"

> Fishbowl tried to sync a sales tax to QuickBooks but the tax name field is blank.

## What it means

Fishbowl attempted to create or update a sales tax in QuickBooks, but discovered the tax name is blank. QuickBooks requires all sales taxes to have a name, so it rejected the sync.

## What to check

- In Fishbowl, locate the sales tax record that triggered this error (check your sales tax setup or list area)
- Verify the name field contains a value—it should not be empty
- If blank, enter a descriptive name (for example, "State Sales Tax" or "Local Sales Tax")
- Retry the sync to QuickBooks
