# Fishbowl: "Carton count cannot be negative"

> You're trying to set a carton count to a negative number in Shipping.

## What it means
Fishbowl rejects carton counts that are negative. This typically happens when you manually enter a negative number in a carton count field, or a calculation produces a negative result. Physically, cartons are counted as zero or greater.

## What to check
- The carton count value you just entered or edited. Did you accidentally enter a minus sign or negative number?
- Whether the quantities you're shipping match your carton allocations. Removing items from cartons can cause the count to go negative.
- Any recent quantity adjustments that might have affected the carton count.
