# Fishbowl: "Drop Ship items can't be modified" — PO already issued

> A sales order line item for a drop-ship product is locked because the purchase order sent to the vendor has already been issued.

## What triggers it

You're trying to change a drop-ship line item in a sales order (usually the quantity). The purchase order that Fishbowl automatically created and linked to that sale has already been issued to the vendor.

## Why Fishbowl blocks it

A drop-ship purchase order is a direct instruction to your vendor. Once issued, changes to the linked sales order line would create a mismatch: your vendor is fulfilling based on the PO they received, but your internal sales order now says something different. Fishbowl locks the SO line to prevent this synchronization break.

## What to do

Try to unissue the purchase order to revert it to draft status. Once you do, edit the SO line to the correct quantity or details, then re-issue the PO. If the PO is locked and can't be unissued, contact your Fishbowl administrator—some workflows enforce read-only POs after issue. If that's your situation, cancel the current SO, create a new one with the correct details and quantity, and issue a fresh purchase order to the vendor.
