# Fishbowl: Cannot reconcile consumed outsourced parts

> Fishbowl blocks reconciliation when the parts involved are flagged as outsourced and have already been consumed.

## What it means

Fishbowl enforces a restriction: you cannot reconcile (compare physical vs. accounting inventory) for outsourced parts that have been consumed. Outsourced parts are manufactured by external suppliers rather than in-house, and Fishbowl handles them differently than standard inventory for costing purposes.

## What to check

- Confirm the part(s) are marked as "outsourced" in the part master
- Verify these parts show as consumed or used in production
- Check whether outsourced work receipts or completions need to be processed through a different workflow before reconciliation is allowed
- Review the part status—Fishbowl may require a different state before standard reconciliation applies
