# Fishbowl: Cannot create location for inactive group

## What it means
You attempted to create a new location and assign it to a location group marked as inactive. Fishbowl blocks this because new locations can only be added to groups with active status.

## What to check
- Confirm the location group you selected is marked inactive
- Determine whether that group needs to be activated to support new locations, or whether you should use a different active location group
- If uncertain which groups are active, review your location group list to see the current status of each one
