# Build a Fishbowl Purchasing Dashboard with AI (Open & Late POs, Top Vendors)

Purchasing lives in the gap between what's ordered and what's landed. Fishbowl tracks every PO, but seeing the whole pipeline at once means a report nobody has time to build.

In this video I don't build a report. I ask [ILC MCP](/fishbowl-mcp) for the Purchasing Pulse Dashboard and it builds it live, against a Fishbowl database, writing the queries itself. No Jasper editor, no paid reporting add-on, no ticket to a consultant.

That's the point of the dual approach: Fishbowl's built-in reporting is rigid, and anything custom usually means iReport/Jasper or a third-party tool. Here the AI reads the live data through the MCP and lays the numbers out for you.

The Purchasing Pulse Dashboard puts the purchasing questions on one screen:

- Open POs and their expected dates
- Late and at-risk POs
- Top vendors by spend
- Average lead time by vendor

The demo runs on representative sample data, so nothing here is a real customer's numbers — but it's the same build you'd run against your own Fishbowl.
